M109 is a classic example of a barred spiral galaxy.
Located about 55 million light years away, M109 is a member of the Ursa Major
Cloud, a giant but loose clustering of galaxies. This image is the sum of 5,
200 s exposures taken Feb 11, 2000 using TKUCO's 12.5" F/4.8 and CB245
camera.
