Wrapping up loose ends in Chapter 13

Using Maple to Ease the Pain!

 

Today we will use Maple to help visualize the complicated geometry of intersecting lines and planes in 3D. By the time you and a partner are done this you should have a better understanding of:

  1. parametric representations of lines in 3D
  2. how to define planes by using normal vectors
  3. how to determine when and where lines and planes intersect.

 

To do this, download the file 3dgeometry from the Math 300 website. I will walk you through this briefly but you will need to spend more time with this and use it to help answer the following questions which are to be handed in by Monday (before the midterm):
