Chem 470 - Midterm Blueprint
Will consist of 4 long answer, multiple part questions. You will have 2 hours
to complete the exam.
Be prepared to use basic ideas of:
- wave-particle concepts
- de Broglie relation
- be able to discuss
wave functions (continuity conditions for example) and use them as solution
to Schroedinger Equation
- review tunneling
and what happens to wave functions at boundaries
- make sure you know what operators are and how to use them
- review concepts of probability
and expectation value
- be able to compare
and contrast the infinite well and finite well cases
- be able to explain
as well as calculate!
Review Chapters 11,12 and first part of 13 (H atom - radial solution).
